Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer with a strong background in UAV airframe and subsystem development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving complex engineering programs, guiding teams, and delivering innovative UAV solutions from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee multidisciplinary engineering efforts across UAV design, development, and integration stages.
- Direct structural and mechanical design of UAV airframes, subsystems, and payload integration with a focus on lightweight, high-performance solutions.
- Perform and review detailed stress, modal, and thermal analyses to ensure airworthiness and structural integrity.
- Manage CAD modeling, assembly layouts, and engineering documentation to ensure production readiness.
- Supervise prototype fabrication and testing using advanced materials such as carbon fiber composites, aluminum alloys, and additive manufacturing.
- Support ground and flight testing, analyze results, and drive design refinements.
- Ensure adherence to aerospace and UAV certification standards (DGCA, ASTM, MIL standards as applicable).
- Oversee supplier interactions for custom components, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical direction, review engineering work, and mentor junior engineers to maintain high standards of quality.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives in UAV design methodologies, structural testing, and validation processes.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in UAV, aerospace, or related mechanical system design, with substantial experience managing projects or engineering teams.
- Proven success in delivering complex UAV or aerospace projects within defined technical requirements and timelines.
- Proficiency in CAD software (FUSION 360, SolidWorks).
- Experience with FreeCAD & OpenFOAM is a plus.
- Strong background in composite structures, lightweight materials, and aerodynamics.
- Familiarity with GD&T, DFM/DFA principles, and rapid prototyping techniques.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
