Schaeffler is a dynamic global technology company and its success has been a result of its entrepreneurial spirit and long history of private ownership Does that sound interesting to you As a partner to all of the major automobile manufacturers as well as key players in the aerospace and industrial sectors we offer you many development opportunities Profile Description Join our dynamic and innovative team as an In-House IP Counsel We are seeking a qualified intellectual property professional in India In this pivotal role you will be responsible for managing our patent and IP portfolio providing strategic advice on patentability and ensuring the protection of our groundbreaking technologies The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent prosecution legal research and excellent analytical skills to navigate complex IP landscapes Bring your expertise and passion for innovation to help us safeguard and advance our cutting-edge products and technologies As a member of the regional Asia Pacific IP-team you will engage with colleagues across multiple countries and continents to develop and establish solutions that impact on a global scale Join us and contribute to a future where creativity meets collaboration across the globe Description of Role Provide comprehensive intellectual property services to the Schaeffler Group to secure and safeguard our intellectual property rights while ensuring compliance and diligence regarding the external intellectual property landscape Your Key Responsibilities Generally responsible for day-to-day intellectual property matters Counsel inventors act as the contact person for all internal clients in IP matters Prosecuting patent applications before national and international patent offices correspondence with local and foreign patent attorneys Searching relevant publications in specific technical fields or for products and for specific intellectual property rights to assess company s business activities Build and shape business relevant patent portfolio Provide information to allow for target-oriented intellectual property filings and identification of intellectual property rights violations Resolve IP disputes with 3rd parties incl license negotiations lawsuits enforcement Investigation of new developments in regard to collision with third party IPR Preparation and assessment of identified infringements from a technical and legal perspective providing a respective recommendation for action confidential internal Monitor IP activities of competitors Train engineers and staff on intellectual property matters and processes in Schaeffler Actively participate in the Asia-Pacific intellectual property team Your Qualifications Major in electronics electrical or mechatronics engineering computer science or related subject matter Good conversational and written English language skills Qualified patent agent or patent attorney with a license to act before the respective patent office Legal knowledge is a plus e g national civil and IP law experience with foreign jurisdictions US DE European etc 3-5 years relevant working experience as in-house counsel managing intellectual property in electronics mechatronics or software development Manage and prioritize diverse work tasks Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as a team member Good communication skills and understanding of working in a global organization As a global company with employees around the world it is important to us that we treat each other with respect and value all ideas and perspectives By appreciating our differences we inspire creativity and drive innovation In this way we contribute to sustainable value creation for our stakeholders and society as a whole Together we advance how the world moves Exciting assignments and outstanding development opportunities await you because we impact the future with innovation We look forward to your application Your Contact Schaeffler India Ltd Amit Raina For technical questions please contact this email address Keywords Experienced Professional Full-Time Unlimited Research Development
