Data Governance - DirectorAbout Data AI Office Are you ready to pioneer our data-driven future Come be a part of 0 to 1 Data and AI transformation that will enable data driven decisions with actionable intelligence for business leaders to achieve their business outcomes An amazing opportunity to setup define and implement from the ground up a robust data governance initiative to shape the future of our rapidly growing business decisions Position Overview We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Data Governance to lead our data governance initiatives within the Data and AI team This role is essential in defining establishing and enforcing data governance frameworks policies tools ensuring data quality and promoting a culture of data stewardship across the organization Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements Collaborate with executive leadership to define data governance strategy and priorities Policy Development Establish data governance policies standards and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations e g GDPR CCPA Monitor and update data governance policies as necessary to address evolving business needs and regulatory changes Data Quality Management Oversee data quality initiatives ensuring accuracy consistency and reliability of data across systems Develop metrics and KPIs to assess data quality and implement corrective actions when needed Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including data owners IT teams and business units to foster collaboration and promote data stewardship Facilitate workshops and training sessions to raise awareness and understanding of data governance practices Data Stewardship Appoint and mentor data stewards across the organization to ensure accountability and ownership of data management practices Advocate for best practices in data management and promote a culture of data stewardship throughout the company Risk Management Identify and mitigate risks related to data management and governance including data breaches and compliance violations Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of data governance policies and practices Technology and Tools Evaluate and implement data governance tools and technologies that enhance data management capabilities Work closely with IT teams to ensure data governance is integrated into data architecture and system design Qualifications Education Bachelor s degree in computer science Information Management Data Science or a related field Master s degree preferred Experience 12 years of experience in data governance data management or related fields with at least 5 years in a leadership role Proven track record of implementing successful data governance frameworks in large organizations Technical Skills Strong understanding of data governance frameworks best practices and industry standards Familiarity with data management tools and technologies e g data cataloguing metadata management data quality tools Soft Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment Firstsource Solutions
