Position Overview

Neilsoft Canada is looking for an experienced Steel Detailer to join our growing team in Toronto. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in structural steel detailing using Tekla Structures, and a solid understanding of steel fabrication and erection standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed 3D models of steel structures using Tekla Structures
- Generate accurate fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and reports
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce shop details
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders
- Ensure detailing work adheres to industry standards and project specifications
- Perform clash detection and resolve design issues proactively
- Support quality control and provide technical input during the fabrication process

Required Skills & Experience

- 5 to 10 years of experience in structural steel detailing
- Proficient in Tekla Structures (modeling, detailing, and reporting)
- Proficient in other 3D modelling softwares like SDS2 & Advance Steel is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of North American steel detailing standards (AISC, CISC)
- Good understanding of connections, steel fabrication, and erection practices
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with global teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with international clients or offshore teams
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection workflows
