Career Area Manufacturing Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc When you join Caterpillar you re joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do - but also about each other We are the makers problem solvers and future world builders who are creating stronger more sustainable communities We don t just talk about progress and innovation here - we make it happen with our customers where we work and live Together we are building a better world so we can all enjoy living in it Role Definition Provides support and guidance on all aspects of production costs quality compliance to safety guidelines and environmental requirements for manufacturing Caterpillar s Manufacturing Engineer position works both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing In addition Manufacturing Engineers function as a specialist and subject matter expert for technical planning throughout a manufacturing facility As Manufacturing Engineer you will have an opportunity to provide the technical expertise necessary to design develop and implement manufacturing systems manufacturing operations and state of the art machines Job Duties Responsibilities may include but are not limited to Virtual Build for Process planning Equipment selection and Establishing assembly process after test and after paint Capability to establish finish line equipment s Establish and maintain paint process with controls that are aligned with the CAV paint requirements Added advantage if the incumbent has worked on scoping and establishing any new paint line with continuous line paint process Establish and maintain Assembly process before and after paint Engaging in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic safety efficiency improvements process bottlenecks quality concerns Manage projects to ensure efficient and cost effective systems and processes to produce quality products Providing manufacturing technical support in process control and internal certification Develop new production methods using lean engineering fundamentals Implementing standard APQP process process flow PFMEA control plan work instruction and checklist Evaluate projects and prepare feasibility studies to define desired results assess value proposition and determine project plans Improve space utilization in the shop floor Develop and implement assembly processes in line with Caterpillar standard processes Estimate production times staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions Required Qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Engineering Mechanical Chemical Engineering Minimum of 6 years experience in manufacturing engineering Experience in Continuous line assembly and paint process Working Knowledge on Team Center Virtual Build MES and SAP Lean Manufacturing knowledge Desired Qualifications Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts with emphasis in engine assembly engine and paint processes Good written and oral communication skills Working Knowledge on Equipment selection and Establishing Paint line and controls Additional Info Office Model - This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office This is intended as a general guide to the job duties for this position and is intended for the purpose of establishing the specific salary grade It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as an exhaustive summary of all responsibilities duties and effort required of employees assigned to this job At the discretion of management this description may be changed at any time to address the evolving needs of the organization It is expressly not intended to be a comprehensive list of essential job functions as that term is defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act Relocation is available for this position Posting Dates November 27 2025 - December 11 2025 Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer Qualified applicants of any age are encouraged to apply Not ready to apply Join our Talent Community
