RAN Architect Requirements Architect 5G Layer 2 15 - 17 Years Experience Location Bangalore Job Type Full-Time Seniority Level Architect About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative 5G Layer 2 Architect to lead the design and development of MAC RLC and Scheduler modules in our next-generation wireless solutions This role demands deep expertise in the 5G NR protocol stack 3GPP particularly in Layer 2 and strong architectural and hands-on development skills You will work closely with cross-functional teams in system engineering Layer 1 2 3 and platform software to build scalable high-performance 5G solutions Key Responsibilities Qualifications Lead architecture design and technical direction for 5G Layer 2 modules MAC RLC Scheduler 10 years of experience in wireless communication systems with at least 5 years in 5G NR L2 software architecture and development Work with UPC SW architecture changes to prepare for the feature s roadmap and review design solutions prior to implementation Strong understanding of 3GPP NR Layer 2 protocols MAC RLC and Scheduling mechanisms Define and document software architecture and design for high-performance scalable L2 functions aligned with 3GPP 38 xxx specifications Proven experience in designing and implementing custom 5G schedulers for uplink downlink traffic management Proficiency in C C in real-time or embedded environments with familiarity in multi-core multi-threaded systems and hardware acceleration techniques Drive the performance optimization and real-time implementation of the Layer 2 stack on target platforms x86 ARM DSP or FPGA Collaborate with PHY and Layer 3 teams to ensure seamless end-to-end protocol integration and performance Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams ensuring best practices in software design and agile development Job responsibilities Architect 5G Layer 2 15 -
