Inviting applications for the role of [Assistant Manager], [Payroll] In this role, [Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Supervisor leads and coaches the Payroll Team in the day-to-day operations of the payroll department, ensuring our 5k+ employees in the United States and Canada are paid accurately and on-time, every time. You will promote best practices and technological advancements to ensure that your team is responsive, employs discipline in the areas of controls and accuracy, and is able to gain operational efficiencies wherever possible.] Responsibilities .Supervise a team responsible for specific payroll functions, including hiring, scheduling, assigning and directing work, training, coaching, counseling, and performance reviews .Oversee the weekly/bi-weekly US and Canadian payroll cycle processing, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time, with the proper payroll deductions and taxation .Act as a primary payroll contact, working cross-functionally with other departments to discuss potential issues, escalations, impacts, and solutions as they relate to payroll processing .Oversees compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and wage laws .Participates on project teams to support department and company sponsored initiatives, providing necessary feedback, recommendations, and testing to ensure payroll controls are met .Analyze payroll challenges and required solutions and partner with the firm's payroll processor to determine and implement necessary resolution measures. .Reviews team procedures to ensure resources are up to date, accurate and in compliance with SOX controls. Analyzes resources to provide recommendations for improvements to Payroll .Responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements for assigned area. .Responsible for related Workday and UKG module(s), ensuring the integrity of data, proper security access for modules, and upgrades are properly implemented and functioning as designed .Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position's functions. .People Leadership: Ability to coach & mentor people. Manage workload and work allocation . Maintain and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures as agreed with the client. . Drive cross training and create backups .Strong US payroll accounting background.
