At Makesworth Accountants, we're seeking a driven Accounts and Audit Senior to join our dynamic Audit & Assurance team. You'll manage a varied client portfolio across multiple sectors and play a key role in delivering high-quality audits, statutory accounts, and advisory services. What You'll Do - Planning audit engagements, scoping work, and assessing key risks in line with auditing standards. - Leading audit work execution, reviewing systems and controls, performing substantive testing, and ensuring audit files are completed to a high standard. - Supervising and coaching junior team members (if required), providing technical guidance and constructive feedback. - Managing client communications throughout the audit process, addressing queries, and ensuring issues are resolved promptly. - Finalising audit files and reports, preparing high-quality deliverables for Partner/Manager review. - Identifying opportunities for adding value to clients through insights and recommendations. - Ensuring audits are delivered on time, within budget, and to the firm's quality standards. - Preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS 102, UK GAAP, and Companies House requirements, ensuring full compliance What We're Looking For - ICAI, ACCA, or equivalent qualified, with proven experience in audit within a professional practice environment - Experience working in outsourcing firms serving UK audit/accounting clients is desirable, though not essential - Strong technical audit and accounting knowledge. - Client-focused with excellent communication skills. - Experience across a range of sectors What We Offer - Competitive salary and benefits package. - Excellent career progression opportunities. - A collaborative and supportive team culture. - Exposure to a wide range of clients and industries.
