Position Description Business Division CSM AgChem Department EHS Assurance Location Jambusar Position Title Head - EHSA Environment Management Level Middle Management Reporting To Head EHS Assurance Position Purpose Head - Environment Management will be responsible for identifying improvement potential in existing EMS and suggest best technological solution for environmental norms of existing and proposed manufacturing facilities Strategic Responsibilities Develop the treatment scheme for proposed effluent streams from new products at the R D scale and review for existing effluent streams Identify opportunity for low cost environmental friendly treatment for existing waste streams Get updated with latest technological development in Environment Management and implement cost effective technology across company Prepare proposal for implementation of technological solution and assist in implementation Dealing with various waste handling agencies for treatment and disposal of wastes Operational Responsibilities Monitor the performance of existing waste treatment facility and assist in trouble shooting Study the characteristics of existing waste streams and check possibility of cost effective treatment method Identify the opportunity to reduce power consumption by implementing cost effective technological solution Identify technology which can be implemented to achieve targeted results Arrange resources for carry out pilot study including identify vendor who supply the technology provide samples and run the pilot run in-house or outside Monitor the performance of experimental batches and prepare study report Present the report to management with merits and demerits Convert beneficial study in to proposal and assist Lead -EHSA sustainability project in getting approval from management Assist in smooth commissioning of project at the site Dealing with various waste handling agencies to resolve issues like increase in waste disposal quantity agreement with new facility legal issues etc Financial Responsibilities People Responsibilities Identify the skill gaps and arrange required trainings for his team and site EHS team Recognize reward excellent performers as per company policy Actively drive in conjunction with the Senior Management Team the performance management process of the team Inspire motivate employees through demonstrated commitment to PI s values vision mission and active participation in various team engagement activities Education Qualification B E B Tech in Chemical or M Sc PhD in Chemistry Work Experience 15-20 years in Environment Industry to be Hired from Agro-Pharma-Fine-Chemicals - Environment consultancy Functional Competencies Understanding of Chemical Processes Regulations Expertise in Environment Regulations Expertise in ESG Community Engagement Advanced Effluent Treatment Proficiency Risk Assessment Management and Audit Environment Management System Interaction Complexity and Team Work Interaction Frequency Purpose of Interaction Internal Head EHSA Site EHS team Other stakeholders from PI Weekly Fortnightly Discuss environment parameter performance and identify improvement opportunities Study new technological solution and conduct pilot run Waste disposal related issues External Vendors As required for the business Discuss various technologies in environmental field
