About the Role

DataSkate is on the lookout for a Lead Software Engineer to guide our talented team of developers in building innovative, scalable, and high-performance applications. If youre a passionate leader with deep technical expertise, a love for emerging technologies, and the ability to inspire and mentor others, wed love to connect.

What Youll Do

- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of skilled developers in a collaborative, high-performing environment.
- Ensure best practices in code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and champion continuous learning within the team.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver robust, user-centric solutions.
- Drive architectural design and technical strategy for cutting-edge web applications.

What Were Looking For

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science (Masters preferred).
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript
- Backend: Node.js (Express/NestJS), Python (Django/Flask), Go, or Java (Spring Boot)
- Familiarity with Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, or open-source).
- Experience deploying containerized apps via Kubernetes/Docker on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong database skills relational, NoSQL, graph, and vector databases.
- Solid Agile experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI).
- Proficient in REST and GraphQL APIs, with relevant testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, Supertest).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a growth mindset.
