ResponsibilitiesJob Title DB2 DBA z OS Experience Required 5 YearsLocation HyderabadJob Summary We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator DBA on z OS with 5 years of expertise to manage optimize and support DB2 databases in a mainframe environment The candidate will be responsible for database administration performance tuning security backup recovery and ensuring high availability for critical applications Reporting relationship This role will report to Delivery ManagerKey Responsibilities Delivery Create modify and maintain DB2 objects tables indexes tablespaces views synonyms etc Manage and support multiple DB2 environments Development Test Production Implement database optimization strategies to improve performance and efficiency Perform performance tuning and optimize SQL queries indexing strategies and storage allocation Manage backup and recovery strategies including image copies and log management Implement and enforce security policies user access control and auditing Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues locks and contention Monitor and optimize buffer pools tablespaces and I O performance Perform DB2 log analysis to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance Work with application teams to optimize SQL stored procedures and query execution plans Automate administrative tasks using JCL and REXX Manage production QA and development database environments Assist in capacity planning Ensure secure database by creating and following corporate security policies Process Adherence Ensure Compliance with PGS BU specific SDLC Execution practices like defect management prevention efforts tracking etc Provide input for maintaining delivery metrics Contribute in release planning and co-ordination Other Contribution Participate in BU level initiatives Knowledge Management Operational Efficiency code jams etc Required Skills Qualifications 5 years of experience as a DB2 DBA on IBM z OS In-depth knowledge of DB2 Data Sharing buffer pool tuning and locking mechanisms Experience with DB2 utilities LOAD REORG RUNSTATS COPY RECOVER Proficiency in JCL REXX TSO ISPF and SDSF for automation and job scheduling Familiarity with CICS and COBOL for mainframe application integration Hands-on experience with IDZ GIThub Omegamon and IBM Db2 Administration Tool Knowledge of disaster recovery and replication technologies IDAA Proficiency in OMEGAMON for DB2 monitoring and performance tuning Expertise in CQM Collection Query Monitor for workload analysis and query performance Strong problem-solving debugging and analytical skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities QualificationsMust HaveEducation Graduate in Bachelors degree any stream Other Sound technical skills inter personal skills good experience in estimation methodologies excellent communication and time management skills requiredCompetencies Make sound business decision Embrace Change Build strong Partnership Get results Act Strategically Lead Cultivate Talent
