Objective of the role The Academic Assessor is responsible for evaluating postgraduate-level student work and providing guidance for online learners, with particular emphasis on dissertation supervision. This role focuses on maintaining academic standards while supporting distance learners through timely assessment and constructive feedback. Key Responsibilities Provide dissertation guidance to learners pursuing Master's-level programs Review and evaluate assessment submissions promptly Offer detailed, constructive feedback to support student development Ensure consistency and fairness in grading across all student submissions Monitor student academic progress and intervene when necessary Support students through the research process including proposal development, methodology selection, and data analysis Maintain regular communication with online learners through virtual office hours and digital platforms Collaborate with learning facilitator / faculties to ensure alignment with learning outcomes Document student performance and maintain accurate assessment records Participate in moderation and standardization activities to ensure quality assurance Skills And Qualifications Required Masters equivalent terminal degree in the relevant discipline Previous experience supervising Master's dissertations Minimum 1 Years Of Experience In Online Education/learning Environments Demonstrated expertise in research methodologies appropriate to your discipline Familiarity with virtual learning environments and digital assessment tools Experience with academic quality assurance processes Excellent written communication skills for providing clear, detailed feedback Strong time management abilities to handle multiple assessment deadlines Proficiency with online learning platforms and digital collaboration tools Ability to establish rapport with students in a virtual environment Understanding of diverse learning needs in an online context Detail-oriented approach to evaluating academic work
