An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and enthusiastic therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Service at the Borders General Hospital.
Previous experience of providing specialist occupational therapy in an acute adult, physical and rehabilitative setting is essential to this post. The clinical areas will include acute medical, surgical, orthopaedics and major trauma. The post holder will provide clinical leadership and supervision to band 5 occupational therapists and therapy support workers and will have opportunities to deputise for the team lead as required.
The post will involve working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to assess and treat patients with complex and challenging needs with the aim of maximising independence and facilitating prompt discharge. Opportunities for continuous personal development (CPD) are encouraged with regular supervision and appraisal and in-service training as well as access to relevant external training.
It is essential that you have a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration as well as being a car driver.
