Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all sheet metal components and fabricated products meet company and customer quality standards The role involves implementing quality control processes conducting inspections managing non-conformances and continuously improving production quality and efficiency Key Responsibilities 1 Quality Control Inspection Perform in-process and final inspection of sheet metal parts assemblies and weldments Verify dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers micrometers height gauges and CMMs Inspect incoming raw materials and supplier components to ensure conformance to specifications Document inspection findings and maintain quality records as per ISO organizational standards 2 Process Quality Improvement Develop and implement quality procedures inspection plans and checklists for sheet metal fabrication cutting bending welding powder coating etc Monitor process capability and suggest improvements for reducing rework and rejection Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions CAPA Collaborate with production teams to ensure process consistency and quality improvements 3 Supplier Customer Quality Coordinate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with quality standards Handle customer complaints related to product quality and provide timely resolutions Support supplier audits and qualification processes 4 Documentation Reporting Maintain and update all quality documentation inspection reports test reports NCR calibration records etc Prepare daily weekly and monthly quality performance reports Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 IATF or other applicable quality management systems 5 Tools Techniques Use quality tools such as 5 Why Fishbone Diagram PPAP FMEA SPC and Control Plans Ensure calibration and upkeep of all measuring instruments Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Key Skills Competencies Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes Laser cutting CNC bending welding powder coating assembly etc Hands-on experience with measuring instruments and gauges Knowledge of GD T engineering drawings and tolerance analysis Familiarity with quality standards ISO 9001 PPAP APQP 8D Good analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in MS Office ERP systems and quality management software Qualifications Experience Diploma or B E B Tech in Mechanical Production or Industrial Engineering 2-6 years of experience in Quality Assurance Quality Control in a sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay 30 000 00 - 40 000 00 per month Benefits Paid time off Work Location In person
