Job Summary We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Operator (Computer Numerical Control Operator) to join our manufacturing team. The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision components according to technical drawings and quality specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with CNC machinery, be able to interpret blueprints, and ensure that all parts produced meet the company’s safety and quality standards. This role is essential in supporting production efficiency and maintaining the integrity of our machining processes.Key Responsibilities1. CNC Machine Setup and Operation Set up CNC machines (lathe, milling, or turning) according to job order and technical drawings. Load and unload raw materials, tools, and finished parts into and from the machines. Input or download programs into the CNC control and verify machine settings. Run test cycles and inspect the first part to ensure correct setup. 2. Reading Technical Documents Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and job orders. Understand machining symbols, dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes. Make necessary adjustments to tools, offsets, or parameters based on drawings and part requirements. 3. Monitoring and Quality Control Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Perform regular measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, or other measuring instruments. Record inspection results and maintain production logs. Report any quality or dimensional issues to the supervisor or quality department. 4. Maintenance and Troubleshooting Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines, lubricating parts, and replacing worn tools. Identify and report machine or tooling problems to the maintenance or programming team. Maintain a clean and safe work area, following safety standards at all times. 5. Documentation and Record-Keeping Maintain accurate logs of work completed, job progress, and issues encountered. Follow production schedules and ensure timely completion of work orders. Ensure proper documentation of reworks or machine changes. 6. Collaboration and Team Support Work closely with CNC Programmers, Quality Inspectors, and Supervisors. Communicate job status, tool needs, or material shortages to the team. Assist in training new operators if required.Technical Skills: Familiarity with CNC machines and controllers such as FANUC, Siemens, Haas, or Mazak. Understanding of G-code and M-code. Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and engineering blueprints. Use of measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc. Ability to operate hand tools and machine shop equipment safely. Soft Skills and Competencies: Strong attention to detail and precision. Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer literacy for data entry or reporting.
