DESCRIPTIONAmazon s Last Mile Technology has the operational focus of providing new and different technologies to solve challenges in the last mile delivery space We want to ensure a top-in-class customer experience from the time a customer places an order on Amazon com to the time it lands in the customer s hands It is in our makeup to drive true innovation in this space Building on that concept one of the key delivery systems to support Last Mile is Amazon Flex Amazon Flex aims to delight customers by delivering millions of packages faster than ever before But this is not just benefiting our end customers with Amazon Flex individuals can now be their own boss while earning money delivering ultra-fast orders You can find out more about Amazon Flex at flex amazon com You will hire and develop a world-class team of engineers with a deep understanding of agile software development methodologies and will work closely with product owners engineering leaders and leadership across the company with excellent communication skills You will work with our product management team to develop the strategy followed by architecture and implementation of critical features into our mobile platform You will own software in all phases of the software life-cycle from architecture and design through deployment and release You will learn about Amazon s logistics network interact with other teams to build optimized systems and have autonomy to deliver software which impacts multiple delivery provider programs BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3 years of engineering team management experience - 7 years of engineering experience - 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software hardware networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience designing or architecting design patterns reliability and scaling of new and existing systemsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy - Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process including support for the interview or onboarding process please visit for more information If the country region you re applying in isn t listed please contact your Recruiting Partner
