Key Responsibilities: 1. Laboratory Preparation & Maintenance Set up laboratory equipment, glassware, and materials before experiments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab, workbenches, and storage areas. Sterilize instruments and equipment using autoclaves or other sterilization methods. Ensure availability of necessary chemicals, reagents, and consumables for ongoing projects. 2. Sample Preparation & Handling Collect, label, and prepare biological, chemical, or environmental samples according to project requirements. Store and manage samples under appropriate conditions (e.g., refrigeration, freezing, or controlled environments). Ensure accurate sample tracking and proper disposal of hazardous or expired materials. 3. Experimental Support Assist senior researchers in conducting experiments according to established protocols. Measure and mix reagents with precision. Operate basic laboratory instruments such as centrifuges, microscopes, pH meters, spectrophotometers, and analytical balances. Monitor experiments, record observations, and report anomalies to supervisors. 4. Data Recording & Documentation Maintain accurate and detailed lab notebooks and digital records. Record experimental results, measurements, and observations clearly and systematically. Assist in preparing preliminary data summaries for reports or presentations. 5. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Calibrate and operate laboratory instruments as per SOPs. Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance or service technicians. Keep maintenance logs for critical instruments. 6. Safety Compliance Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Handle hazardous chemicals and biological materials responsibly. Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed. Participate in safety drills and report any incidents immediately. 7. Inventory & Procurement Monitor stock levels of lab supplies, chemicals, and glassware. Assist in preparing purchase requisitions for replenishment. Check deliveries for quality and accuracy before storage. 8. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with scientists, technicians, and other research staff to meet project deadlines. Share findings, observations, and suggestions with team members. Attend lab meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.Key Skills & Competencies: 1. Technical Laboratory Skills Proficiency in handling lab glassware, pipettes, and instruments. Ability to prepare solutions, reagents, and buffers accurately. Familiarity with standard laboratory testing and analysis techniques. 2. Communication Skills Clear and concise verbal and written communication to relay information to team members. Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when clarification is needed. 7.
