Dispense medications accurately in the prescribed dosage and form. Label medicines correctly with dosage instructions, usage guidelines, and safety warnings. 2. Patient Counseling & Education Explain to patients how and when to take their medications. Educate patients on potential side effects, interactions, and storage instructions. Advise on the safe use of over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Provide guidance on lifestyle changes, diet, and supplements when required. Address patient concerns regarding prescribed drugs and healthcare products. 3. Inventory & Stock Management Maintain an adequate stock of medicines and healthcare supplies. Monitor expiration dates, manage returns, and ensure proper storage conditions. Place timely orders with suppliers to avoid stockouts. Maintain accurate records of received and issued medications. 4. Regulatory Compliance Ensure all pharmaceutical activities comply with government regulations, local drug laws, and pharmacy guidelines. Maintain proper documentation for controlled substances and prescription drugs. Adhere to the Pharmacy Act, Drug Control Laws, and Good Pharmacy Practices. Assist in audits conducted by regulatory authorities. 5. Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals Work closely with doctors, nurses, and medical staff to clarify prescriptions. Suggest alternative medicines when required, based on availability or cost-effectiveness. Assist healthcare providers in monitoring patient recovery and medication outcomes. Stay updated on new drugs, therapies, and treatment protocols. 6. Health & Safety Measures Maintain hygiene and cleanliness within the pharmacy. Ensure proper storage conditions for temperature-sensitive medications. Follow safety protocols when handling hazardous or controlled substances. Educate patients about safe drug disposal practices. 7. Record-Keeping & Reporting Maintain accurate prescription records for legal and operational purposes. Prepare periodic reports on drug usage, stock levels, and patient feedback. Update digital databases or pharmacy management software as required. Assist management in reviewing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Required Skills & Competencies Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Strong understanding of drugs, dosages, and therapeutic uses.
