About this role An Associate is a key contributor to the achievement of our team's goals. You will take on significant responsibility as part of the transaction team, including transaction leadership. You'll have a clear understanding of a wide range of consulting services and corporate finance processes, issues and project management. You'll also be key in generating ideas for business development and executing these together with senior members of the team. Key Responsibilities and Challenges: - To lead the point contact for day-to-day execution on transaction advisory mandates across a variety of segments within the knowledge economy - To design, build, and manage discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout and merger consequences models for live and contemplated M&A transactions - To lead on the preparation of effective pitch books contributing to the marketing efforts of the firm - To mentor and train Analyst level bankers, while driving excellence through best practice - To maintain client relations during the deal execution period and building industry-specific expertise - To have regular contact with other internal teams within Equiteq to ensure smooth communication across groups and sharing of best practices - To conduct research and analysis on Equiteq's clients and prospects as well as industry sub-sectors and contribute ideas for those clients and prospects What are we looking for Knowledge & Experience: - 3+ years investment banking experience from an investment bank, boutique or accountancy firm - Good knowledge of M&A and the ability to apply skills creatively to diverse client needs - Business services/consulting sector M&A experience highly valued but not essential - Experience in reviewing Analysts work models & valuations - Assisting with Analyst training, mentoring and pitch presentations - Experience in leading aspects of client pitches - Sound judgment, particularly in valuation matters, with strong analytic skills - Ability to talk through previous deals comprehensively when quizzed Attributes: - Results driven and able to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines - Strong analytical and numerical skills that put you at ease with financial data - Proven team player who can effectively interact with a wide variety of internal groups and clients - Strong multi-tasking skills - Proficiency with MS Office applications - Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, confident presentation ability and an inquisitive mind Our values At Equiteq, our values are central to what we do and how we show up for our colleagues and clients: - Achievement: We are driven by attaining measurable success for our clients, our colleagues, our firm and ourselves. - Empathy: We are excellent at understanding entrepreneurs.
