Big Data DeveloperJOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities The Applications Development Supervisor is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.Responsibilities:Manage an Applications Development team of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team (e.g. performance evaluations, training and development, hiring, and disciplinary actions)Recommend new work procedures to increase process efficienciesResolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedentsDevelop and apply comprehensive knowledge of how own area integrates within apps development and other technical areasEnsure the quality of tasks provided by self and others on the team as well as influence decisions through advice or facilitating services that impact the team and closely related work, teamsAct as backup to Applications Development Manager and serve as an advisor and coach to junior developers and analystsAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.Qualifications:2-4 years of relevant experienceExperience in managing and implementing successful projectsAbility to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projectsExperience with dependency management, change management, continuous integration testing tools, and audit/compliance requirementsExtensive knowledge of software engineering and object-oriented designDemonstrated leadership and management skillsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationEducation:Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceDevelopment Value:Opportunities for career growth within the Global program that is expandingExposure and opportunity to work in cutting-edge technologies on Big data, Hadoop, and Data science projects.Work on projects involving complex feature-based data algorithms.Exposure to AML monitoring processes and Markets/Cards functional knowledge.A team with a win-together/lose-together attitude and a strong sense of identity and positive culture.Other skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (in science, computers, information technology, or engineering)Candidate should be willing to work late in the evening India time on a need basis in order to interact with US onshore team and to meet urgent requests by Clients.Exhibit sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex informationAct as advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts;Strong influencing & interpersonal skills.
