Roles & Responsibilities

1. Machine Maintenance & Repairs

- Execute timely installation, repair, rebuild, and upkeep of printing machinery and electrical equipment to ensure optimal uptime and performance.
- Oversee pre-emptive maintenance to maximize production throughput and minimize disruptions.

1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to avoid equipment failures.
- Respond swiftly to breakdowns, perform troubleshooting, and restore operations efficiently.

1. Safety & Compliance

- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements to safeguard personnel and equipment.

1. MMS System Utilization

- Record and track maintenance activities, equipment histories, and inventory of spare parts using the Maintenance Management System.

1. Team Leadership & Coordination

- Foster strong working relationships with technicians, operators, management, workshop staff, and external vendors.
- Coordinate timely procurement and delivery of critical spares and services.

1. Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

- Investigate recurring failures, perform RCA, and recommend engineering or process improvements to prevent future issues.

1. Cost-Saving Initiatives

- Proactively identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs—through better resource utilization, energy efficiency, or improved workflows—without compromising quality.

1. Continuous Improvement

- Participate in Kaizen or similar programs to enhance maintenance processes, streamline operations, and improve reliability.

1. Training & Documentation

- Provide training to operators and team members on machine operation, safety best practices, and minor troubleshooting.
- Maintain clear maintenance SOPs, checklists, and documentation to support audit-readiness and cross-functional alignment.

1. Cross-Functional Support

- Liaise with Production, Prepress, Binding, Finishing, and Warehousing teams to support seamless workflows, especially during peak volumes or targeted job runs.

Technical Skills

- PLC & Automation Systems – Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and automated systems used in modern rotary, web-offset, and digital print machinery.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems – Understanding pressurized systems, actuators, and relevant troubleshooting techniques.
- Predictive Maintenance Tools – Knowledge of vibration analysis, thermography, and condition-monitoring tools to preempt equipment failure.
- Electrical & Mechanical Foundation – Strong grounding in electrical systems, control panels, wiring, and mechanical assembly fundamentals.
- Spare Parts Inventory Management – Proficiency in managing machine components, procurement lead times, and stock levels.

Analytical & Soft Skills

- Data-Driven Decision-Making – Utilize equipment performance data to guide improvement and maintenance planning.
- Problem-Solving – Apply logical and systematic approaches to complex maintenance challenges.
- Communication & Collaboration – Effectively communicate with diverse teams across operations, supply chain, and management.
- Time Management & Organization – Prioritize tasks and operations to meet production schedules and prevent backlog.
- Continuous Learning Mindset – Stay updated with emerging printing technologies and maintenance best practices.
