Assistant to Vice President Sales

Job Description
Lead and grow a high-performing wealth management team, delivering strategic, personalized investment advisory services to High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNIs). Responsible for building, preserving, and transferring client wealth across multiple asset classes, including mutual funds (MFs), alternative investment funds (AIFs), unlisted shares, and other alternative products. Ensure regulatory compliance, product excellence, and client trust while achieving business growth and high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Advisory & Portfolio Construction
- Conduct in-depth discovery and profiling of HNI/UHNI clients to understand their goals (growth, income, legacy transfer, tax efficiency, risk tolerance).
- Design bespoke, diversified portfolios across asset classes (MFs, AIFs, unlisted equities, real estate, structured products, etc.).
- Guide clients through complex investments (private equity, venture capital, unlisted shares, AIFs) including due diligence, valuation, exit strategies.

1. Strategy, Monitoring & Rebalancing
- Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with market views, client objectives, macroeconomic trends, inflation, taxation, etc.
- Monitor portfolio performance regularly (monthly / quarterly), compare against benchmarks, stress test, and rebalance portfolios as needed.
- Provide scenario analysis, risk assessment, downside protection strategies.

1. Wealth Transfer & Succession Planning
- Assist clients in estate planning, trusts, wills, and intergenerational transfer of assets.
- Align investment & legal structures to minimize tax, ensure compliance, and preserve family wealth.

1. Regulatory, Compliance & Governance
- Stay updated on SEBI / RBI / tax / financial regulations, investment norms for AIFs, unlisted shares, disclosure, AML / KYC / risk management.
- Ensure full compliance in client communication, product disclosures, reporting.

1. Business Growth & Team Leadership
- Build / lead a team of wealth managers, investment analysts, relationship managers.
- Set targets (AUM growth, client acquisition, revenue, profitability), monitor KPIs, conduct regular reviews.
- Mentor, train, recruit, evaluate performance, develop succession plans.

1. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients: regular reviews, periodic reporting, re-assess goals.
- Proactively identify cross-sell / up-sell opportunities (e.g. alternative products, private deals).
- Organize client events, seminars, webinars, workshops to enhance client education and loyalty

1. Market Research & Product Expertise
- Keep deep knowledge of available investment products: mutual funds, PMS (if applicable), AIFs, unlisted shares, fixed income, alternative investments.
- Work closely with product, research, legal and compliance teams to evaluate new investment opportunities and due diligence.

- Help define the wealth management division's strategy, positioning, competitive advantage.
- Budgeting, forecasting, reporting financial results and operational metrics.
- Assess and manage risks (investment risk, reputational risk, operational risk).

Qualifications & Skills
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent.
- Certifications such as CFA, CFP, CAIA, or relevant certifications (CFA > preferred; CFP helpful for planning aspects).
- At least 10+ years of experience in wealth / advisory / private banking / investment advisory roles minimum 5-7 years in leadership or senior client-facing roles.
- Deep familiarity with mutual funds, alternative investment funds (AIFs), unlisted shares / private equity, structured products.
- Strong understanding of regulatory environment, taxation, estate planning in your jurisdiction.
