The ideal candidate will be adept at designing schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, with a proven track record in delivering robust hardware solutions for complex electronic systems. You will join a well-established startup poised for significant growth over the next 2 to 3 years, contributing to innovative product development in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities · Design, develop, and review detailed schematics and multilayer PCB layouts using Altium Designer. · Lead the end-to-end hardware design process, from concept through to prototyping, testing, and production release. · Apply strong digital and analogue design principles to create reliable, high-performance hardware solutions. · Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability of hardware designs. · Perform design validation, debugging, and troubleshooting using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and signal generators. · Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design files, Active BOMs, and test procedures, in compliance with industry standards. · Ensure designs meet relevant EMC, safety, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CE, FCC, UKCA). · Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) initiatives. Essential Requirements · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. · Minimum 6 years of professional experience in hardware design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. · Expert proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout. · In-depth knowledge of both digital and analogue circuit design. · Experience with high-speed digital design, power supply design, and signal integrity analysis. · Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and constraints. · Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. · Immediate availability is highly desirable. Desirable Skills: · Experience with other CAD tools (e.g., OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, KiCAD). · Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers. · Knowledge of relevant international standards and certification processes. · Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced product development environment.
