Job Title: Senior/Lead Hardware Design Engineer

Location: Remote

We are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Senior Hardware Design Engineer with extensive experience in digital and analogue circuit design. The ideal candidate will be adept at designing schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, with a proven track record in delivering robust hardware solutions for complex electronic systems. You will join a well-established startup poised for significant growth over the next 2 to 3 years, contributing to innovative product development in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, develop, and review detailed schematics and multilayer PCB layouts using Altium Designer.

· Lead the end-to-end hardware design process, from concept through to prototyping, testing, and production release.

· Apply strong digital and analogue design principles to create reliable, high-performance hardware solutions.

· Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure seamless integration and manufacturability of hardware designs.

· Perform design validation, debugging, and troubleshooting using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and signal generators.

· Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design files, Active BOMs, and test procedures, in compliance with industry standards.

· Ensure designs meet relevant EMC, safety, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CE, FCC, UKCA).

· Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) initiatives.

Essential Requirements

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

· Minimum 6 years of professional experience in hardware design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

· Expert proficiency in Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.

· In-depth knowledge of both digital and analogue circuit design.

· Experience with high-speed digital design, power supply design, and signal integrity analysis.

· Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and constraints.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

· Immediate availability is highly desirable.

Desirable Skills:

· Experience with other CAD tools (e.g., OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, KiCAD).

· Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers.

· Knowledge of relevant international standards and certification processes.

· Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced product development environment.
