Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities - - Design and install video surveillance systems - - Conduct regular maintenance on video surveillance equipment - - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues - - Train clients on the use of their video surveillance systems - - Provide excellent customer service and support - - Video Surveillance Technician Qualifications & Skills - - Bachelor's degree in a related field - - 5+ years of experience in a video surveillance technician role - - Certification in video surveillance technology (e.g. CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+) - - Associate's degree in a related field (e.g. electronics, computer technology) - - 2+ years of experience in a video surveillance technician role - - Strong technical knowledge of video surveillance equipment and software - - Excellent communication and customer service skills - - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - - System Design & Installation: - Plan, design, and install integrated systems including CCTV cameras, video walls, audio/visual (AV), video conferencing (VC), and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units. - - Configuration & Integration: - Configure hardware and software, and integrate these systems with existing IT infrastructure to ensure seamless operation. - - Maintenance & Repair: - Perform routine checks, preventive maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting to resolve complex issues. - - Technical Support: - Provide expert-level technical support to users and on-site engineers for various AV/VC platforms and CCTV systems. - - Documentation: - Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, and service records. - - Quality Control: - Conduct quality control tests and perform site surveys to ensure optimal camera placement and system performance. - - Collaboration: - Work with clients and internal teams to assess risks, recommend solutions, and provide end-user training. - - Technology Updates: - Stay informed about the latest technologies and trends in video surveillance, AV, VC, and power systems to recommend upgrades. - Required Skills & Qualifications - - Technical Expertise: - Deep knowledge of CCTV hardware and software, video wall technology, AV/VC equipment (e.g., Crestron, QSC, Cisco, Microsoft Teams Rooms), and UPS systems. - - Networking Fundamentals: - Strong understanding of networking principles, including IP systems for CCTV and AV/VC. - - Teamwork & Independence: - Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. - - Educational Background: - Bachelor's or technical degree in IT, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is often required. - - Experience: - Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and supporting advanced AV, VC, and CCTV systems - Softskills - Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with users and document issues clearly. - Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, and common desktop applications. - Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues efficiently. - Customer Service: A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and a high level of user satisfaction. - ITIL Knowledge: Familiarity with the ITIL framework and its associated concepts, such as incident management and service catalog management.
