Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities: Linux Build & Uplift

1) OS Installation:

- Install OS SW, with respect to appropriate version, release and patch level.

- Upgradation/Migration Knowledge of upgrading OS.

- Rollback OS/Kernel version.

2)Linux Administration:

- User & Group management.

- Creating New file system in Linux (LVM, NAS, SAN etc..).

- Proper understating of Linux Booting process.

- Linux installation knowledge.

- RPM package installation knowledge.

3)Unix System Configuration:

- Kernel configuration.

- User configuration.

- Yum configuration and usage.

- OS Patching and Rollback exposure.

- Understanding of Satellite based OS installation.

4)Troubleshooting:(L1/L2)

- Troubleshooting for server booting issues and other

Key performance indicators:

He/she must have a good knowledge of Linux Administration to handle BAU work and uplift requests. Additionally, he needs a deeper understanding of troubleshooting to manage ongoing issues effectively.
