Career Area Engineering Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc When you join Caterpillar you re joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do but also about each other We are the makers problem solvers and future world builders who are creating stronger more sustainable communities We don t just talk about progress and innovation here we make it happen with our customers where we work and live Together we are building a better world so we can all enjoy living in it Role Definition Lead engineering activities of fuel system components of diesel engines during design and development phase Engine Platforms from C1 7 L to C 7 0 L In this role you will have broad responsibility from concept development to release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance durability quality and serviceability You will be working new product development as well as current product improvement This is an exciting time to be a part of Team Caterpillar Responsibilities In this position you will be mainly leading engineering activities related to fuel system components of diesel engines as part of product development programs to bring them into production Closely engage with cross functional teams suppliers on concurrent product and process design and development activities to achieve our quality delivery and financial objectives Develop and execute technology aftermarket cost and warranty reduction strategies for these components Effective use of various engineering tools as part of product development Manage multiple projects and closely work with SMEs L4 engine platform teams to achieve objectives while keeping them informed about progress and project plans Execute maintenance activities such as factory and customer problem resolution cost reduction and robustness improvement projects Degree Requirement BE Mechanical engineering with minimum 6 or more years of relevant experience in engine industry or ME MTech Mechanical engineering specialization in IC engines engineering design thermal engineering with 4 or more years of relevant experience in engine industry ideal candidate Skill DescriptorsAnalytical Thinking Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems Level Extensive Experience Strong analytical skills and the ability to bring creative solutions to challenging problems Demonstrated data driven decision making Effective Communications Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors Level Extensive Experience Proactive approach and accountability Strong teamwork and collaboration skills Strong communication skills including presentation of technical material to managers Technical Excellence Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges Level Extensive Experience Thorough understanding of fuel system is necessary Experience in design and development activities related to fuel system of Diesel engine specifically Fuel Filters Fuel Injection Pump and Fuel Lift pump Simulation led design experience using tools such as FEA CFD Magma etc Experience delivering designs from concept to production and proficient in Value analysis Value engineering techniques Relocation is available for this position Posting Dates May 16 2025 - May 19 2025Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer EEO Not ready to apply Join our
