Job Description MERN Stack Engineer We are seeking an experienced MERN Stack Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience in full-stack web development using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js. The ideal candidate will be capable of architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable, performant, and secure web applications. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions in an agile environment. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js). - Design and implement responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces using React. - Build robust, scalable, and secure server-side applications and APIs using Node.js and Express.js. - Design and optimize MongoDB schemas and queries for high performance. - Implement user authentication, authorization using JWT and session management. - Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices. - Perform code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers. - Collaborate with UI/UX designers to turn wireframes and mockups into functional web pages. - Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and reliability. - Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services. - Participate actively in the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, testing, deployment, and maintenance. - Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices. Required Skills - Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.) - 8+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development with the MERN stack. - Expert-level proficiency in React.js, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB. - Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. - Experience creating RESTful APIs and working with GraphQL is a plus. - Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Knowledge of security best practices for web applications, including authentication and authorization. - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in collaborative teams. - Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders. - Cloud and DevOps experience (AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines) is advantageous. Preferred Additional Experience - Leading development teams. - Working in fast-paced development environments. - Experience with container orchestration and serverless architectures. - Writing automated tests using tools like Jest or Mocha. - Familiarity with compliance and security standards relevant to industries such as FinTech, Banking and Financial Services
