This Position reports to: Senior Engineering Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day, you will formulate plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. You will also showcase your expertise by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability. The work model for the role is: #Li_Onsite This role is contributing to the Process Automation business based in Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for: - Providing direction to the engineering team with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on time delivery, quality, and margin improvement. Designing best fit technical solution against customer specifications. Determining most technical appropriate and cost-effective solutions. - Ensuring the projects/ operations value chain portfolio follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and that the projects are closed as per the contract specifications. - Initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering / design capability and efficiency, utilize agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time, and enhance functional safety and cybersecurity. - Driving team performance to ensure that the deliverables are met on time and as per the set contract specifications and safety, cyber security, and quality requirements. Experience with the ABB 800xA System including power and grounding requirements, field cabling requirements and field wiring typical for IO signals, equipment, installation, connection, power-up and site acceptance testing. Qualifications for the role - 15 to 18 years of experience in similar field. - Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering discipline. - Work experience in Automation Proposals (DCS/ ESD/ FGS) for process industries in any one of the domains like Oil & Gas/ Refineries/ Petrochemicals - Having good knowledge in Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to match with specifications. Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to vendors. - Builds and maintains customer relationships, seeks feedback, and provides innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and deliver improvements.
