This role sets the overarching technology strategy within HMS, ensuring optimal use of tools and solutions to drive efficiency and innovation across the revenue cycle. The Director is accountable for evaluating technology options (build vs. buy), leading automation efforts, and coordinating with multiple teams to implement cutting-edge solutions like RPA. The individual will also serve as the face of technology strategy in leadership and stakeholder forums.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the technology vision and strategy for the organization.
- Make critical technology decisions (tools, platforms, build/buy).
- Maintain an expert understanding of available tools and vendor technologies.
- Drive automation adoption, specifically through RPA, across business units.
- Lead the automation team including architects, developers, and analysts.
- Act as liaison with the Technology Steering Committee to align strategy.
- Manage automation project backlogs, roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks.
- Own the program's change management and communication plans.
- Coordinate across CI (Continuous Improvement), Insights, and Workflow teams.
- Control the automation budget and define long-term scaling strategy.
Coordination Points:
- Continuous Improvement team to identify and prioritize technology needs.
- Insights Management team for leveraging analytics in tech strategies.
- RCW/A development team to ensure maximized use of workflow/reporting tech.
Oversight Of:
- HMS Solution Architects
- RPA Automation Developers
- Automation Analysts
Qualifications:
- 18+ years of experience in revenue cycle tech, including automation and analytics.
- Prior leadership role in a revenue cycle firm.
- Strong ability to interface with C-level leadership.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
