Purpose of the Role:

This role is responsible for managing the payroll and compliance activities for our India operation, ensuring a smooth employee lifecycle experience for all staff, and compliance with all statutory, regulatory and accreditation requirements. The split of the role will be primarily HR operations, however, the individual will also provide support to other team members including the Junior HR & Recruitment Executive on an ad hoc basis.

Since the requires regular office presence, we prefer that you live no further than 10 kms from our office.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Manage monthly payroll including all starters, leavers, salary amendments, shift and travel allowances, bonuses, and loss of pay instructions, meeting all accuracy and deadline standards.
- Manage all benefit administration, including the medical insurance.
- Manage all audit and compliance requirements relating to regulatory and statutory requirements (PF, PT, Gratuity, etc.), as well as those related to our ISO27011, SOC2 and B Corp accreditations.
- Ensure accurate employee data is appropriately stored on our HRIS (HiBob) and liaise with support team when required
- Maintain employee records in line with appropriate retention policies
- Support all administrative requirements relating to changes to employee records including supporting documentation, systems updates, etc.
- Manage our third party vendor relationships including invoice coordination and payment.
- Support and provide cover for team members as required - including end-to-end recruitment support on vacancies and deputising for the HR Manager, as required.
- Act as a first point of contact for all payroll, benefits and compliance queries, escalating as appropriate.
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding payroll/compliance procedures for all new starters and leavers

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

- 3-5 years experience in a similar HR Generalist role, with focus on payroll and compliance.
- Extensive experience managing complex payroll and benefit systems.
- Excellent understanding of Indian statutory labour and compliance requirements and laws.
- Extensive experience using and optimising Human Resources Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- A discreet and confidential approach with confidence dealing with sensitive information
- Excellent oral and writing communication skills in English, as well as mail and telephone etiquette
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or G Suite
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Experience working in a SOC2 or ISO27001 is desirable.
- Experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes for technical and operational roles is desirable.
