Job Description

We are seeking a recently qualified Chartered Accountant to join our Record to Report (R2R) team, where the candidate will support the R2R Team Lead and Accounting Controllers in the accurate and timely preparation of books of account and financial statements for Indian legal entities, in compliance with IFRS and IND-AS. The role involves capturing all financial transactions across various R2R sub-processes into the ERP system systematically and promptly, ensuring a clear audit trail, data integrity, and adherence to both internal policies and fiscal reporting timelines. The candidate will engage with internal stakeholders such as the India R2R & Accounting team, other GBS India towers, RACs, and Akzo Nobel entities globally, as well as with external parties including bankers, auditors, regulatory authorities, and consultants. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a fresher CA to gain exposure to global financial reporting, statutory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within a multinational environment.

Role & responsibilities

- Accounting of manual journal entries across sub-processes such as Fixed Asset Accounting, Inter Company Accounting, Treasury Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Period Close Activities, and Statutory and Tax Reporting, in accordance with IFRS and IND-AS.
- Advise and execute complex, judgment-based general accounting tasks, including non-rule-based accruals and recurring month-end activities.
- Collaborate with specialists like CTA for specific accounting topics requiring deep expertise
- Engage in the accurate and timely monthly book closure process, as well as quarterly, October hard-close, and year-end financial closure processes for the Indian entities.
- Review the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet from an accounting perspective in the ERP/HFM during the month or as per the agreed BS review cycle.
- Drive standardization and quality in the balance sheet account reconciliation process.
- Support various audits, including Statutory Audit, Group Audit, Cost Audit, Internal Audit, and Tax Audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit queries.

Preferred candidate profile

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (completed CA Final with articleship).
- Good understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and taxation.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (Tally, SAP, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
