About the Role:
This is a role in Flipkart's corporate development team focusing on Strategic Partnerships as well as
Flipkart Ventures. The person will be reporting to the head of strategic partnerships, driving key
partnerships for the Flipkart group. He / she will also work with FK Ventures (Flipkart's early stage
investment arm), assisting with investments as well as portfolio management.
About the team:
The strategic partnerships team looks at driving important partnerships for the Flipkart Group (across Flipkart, Myntra, Cleartrip, Shopsy) focused on achieving Flipkart's strategic objectives. These partnerships pan across tech, supply chain, marketing, loyalty as well as new business initiatives. Flipkart Ventures focuses on early stage investments in tech-led businesses and invests
anywhere between $500k to $2m.
You are Responsible for:
Strategic Partnerships:
● Track market and competitive landscapes to identify potential partnership opportunities.
● Collaborate with senior Flipkart stakeholders to align partnership goals with the Flipkart group's
strategic objectives.
● Identify and connect with potential partners.
● Develop and negotiate mutually beneficial partnership constructs.
● Execute partnerships with cross-functional teams.
Flipkart Ventures:
● Create investment theses for target sectors.
● Scout and shortlist relevant companies based on market attractiveness, business model, and
founder fitment.
● Prepare decks for the FK investment committee.
● Assist with transaction closure.
To succeed in this role – you should have the following:
● Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
● Ability to structure ambiguous problems and apply first principles thinking.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Strong affinity for data-based decision-making
● Strong people skills: ability to influence people, negotiate and be unflustered in crucial
conversations
● Understanding of eCommerce industry and hands-on experience in driving complex strategic
initiatives
● Ability to multitask, accountability and personal organization are essential
● Education: MBA from top 10 B-school
● Experience: 2-4 years in consulting, e-commerce, internet start-up; prior experience in
partnership / growth roles / corp dev / investing is an added bonus
