Job Summary The Taxation department's role is to provide accurate, timely and informative results, assisting and supporting the Finance organization through Bread Financial initiatives. The Taxation Lead will manage the direct and indirect taxation function and SEZ Compliance within the India entity. This role will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Additionally, this role will research, analyze, and utilize applicable tax information to prepare and review tax returns and provision calculations. Lastly, The Taxation Lead Will Co-ordinate With Internal And External Stakeholders For Effective Functioning, And Will Touch All Aspects Of The Tax Lifecycle, Which Is Heavily Weighted In Compliance And Tax Job Functions - Prepare and review corporate tax filings and ensure compliance with India tax laws (30%) - Prepare and review SEZ filings and ensure compliance is met (20%) - Perform analysis of various general ledger accounts to obtain information necessary to prepare or review tax returns, extensions, and estimates. - Prepare or review tax provision and deferred tax calculations. - Prepare or review monthly general ledger tax account reconciliations (10%) - To ensure timely filing and processing of returns for both direct and indirect taxation (15%) - Be the primary point of contact for statutory auditors for tax-related matters (10%) - Manage cross-border tax issues, including transfer pricing, VAT, withholding tax, and permanent establishment risks (10%) - Develop, verify, and implement robust processes and controls for tax-related areas (5%) Preferred Qualifications - Masters Degree in Direct and Indirect Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or CA - 8+ years of experience in India Project Time Management - Collaborative Communications - Analytical Problem Solving - Leadership Accountability - Creativity - Reports To: Manager and above Work Environment - Normal office environment, hybrid.
