Job Description As a Director - Digital Transformation (Client Partner), you will play a pivotal role in identifying, fostering, and incubating large-scale digital transformation projects for government entities at both central and state levels. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and nurture deep relationships with senior-level government officers, understand their critical pain points and challenges, and propose innovative digital solutions that can deliver substantial impact on government services and, ultimately, citizens lives. This position reports directly to the CEO of the Wadhwani Government Digital Transformation unit. Key Responsibilities Government Engagement: - Engage with Senior Government Officials: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with senior-level officers and decision-makers across various government departments, ministries, and agencies at both the Central and select State levels. - Understand Government Pain Points: Conduct in-depth discussions and comprehensive needs assessments to pinpoint critical pain points, operational challenges, and untapped opportunities within government operations and service delivery. Opportunity Identification: - Identify Digital Transformation Opportunities: Stay constantly updated on emerging technologies and their practical applications. Proactively identify specific areas where digital transformation projects can significantly enhance government services, improve efficiency, and deliver tangible benefits to citizens. - Analyze Data and Trends: Utilize data-driven insights and relevant industry trends to recommend and prioritize high-impact digital transformation initiatives. - Analyze Government Plans: Meticulously review plan documents from various government departments to identify priority areas, key sectors, and strategic opportunities for digital intervention. Solution Proposals: - Develop Project Proposals: Collaborate closely with our CTO and technology team to conceptualize and develop compelling project proposals that directly address identified government challenges and strategically leverage emerging technologies. - Present Solutions: Effectively communicate project proposals to government stakeholders, clearly highlighting the potential impact, benefits, and return on investment. Relationship Management: - Nurture Client Relationships: Continuously engage with government clients to build deep trust, provide proactive updates, and ensure their evolving needs are consistently met. - Networking: Cultivate and strategically expand your professional network within the broader government ecosystem, including relevant industry associations, partner organizations, and key forums. Business Acumen: - Business-Level Understanding of Technologies: Maintain a strong understanding of new and emerging technologies, their real-world applications, and their specific relevance to government operations and public sector challenges. - Financial Acumen: Possess a solid understanding of the financial aspects of project proposals, including robust budgeting, comprehensive cost-benefit analysis, and clear articulation of return on investment. Qualifications and Skills - Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Public Administration, Technology, etc.). A Master's degree is a significant plus. - Experience: Extensive proven experience (15+ years) in a client-facing role, preferably within government consulting, technology solutions, or digital transformation. - Government Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of government processes, policies, and operational nuances. - Technical Understanding: Strong understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, blockchain, and their potential applications specifically within the public sector. - Communication & Presentation: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. - Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, coupled with a proven track record of successfully building and maintaining strong relationships at senior executive levels. - Analytical Mindset: A sharp analytical mindset with the ability to effectively analyze data, industry trends, and complex government challenges to propose highly effective solutions. - Drive: Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong results-oriented approach. - Existing Network: Existing connections and established relationships within the government sector are highly desirable.
