Dispensing Medications Accurately fill prescriptions as per doctor’s instructions and company protocols. Ensure the right dosage, route, frequency, and formulation are provided. Double-check for drug interactions, allergies, or contraindications before dispensing. Label medicines correctly and provide proper usage instructions to customers. 2. Customer Interaction and Counseling Communicate clearly and professionally with customers about how to take prescribed medications. Provide guidance on over-the-counter (OTC) drugs for minor health issues such as colds, allergies, or pain relief. Educate customers on medication side effects, storage conditions, and dietary considerations. Offer health advice related to vaccinations, wellness, and lifestyle choices when appropriate. 3. Inventory and Stock Management Monitor inventory levels of medicines, healthcare products, and medical supplies. Check expiry dates regularly and ensure proper stock rotation (First-In-First-Out). Assist with ordering new stock, managing supplier relationships, and checking deliveries. Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing stock in line with pharmacy standards. 4. Regulatory Compliance Ensure adherence to all pharmacy laws and regulations under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Act, and other relevant guidelines. Maintain and update controlled drug registers and ensure secure storage of Schedule H and other regulated drugs. Report any adverse drug reactions or medication errors as per regulatory requirements. Display licenses and other required certifications in the pharmacy premises. 5. Record Keeping and Documentation Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions filled. Update patient profiles, including history of medicines dispensed, allergies, and reactions. Ensure proper documentation of billing, insurance claims, and statutory reports. Use pharmacy software or retail point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently for billing and inventory tracking. 6. Team Coordination and Support Collaborate with pharmacy assistants and retail staff to ensure smooth store operations. Train and guide junior staff on basic pharmacy operations, customer service, and SOPs. Support store managers in achieving monthly sales targets and customer satisfaction goals. 7. Health and Safety Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized pharmacy area. Ensure proper storage of medicines according to temperature and humidity requirements.
