The primary responsibilities of the role include analyzing project requirements, estimating costs based on materials, labor, and processes, and providing detailed cost breakdowns. The Costing Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review engineering drawings, and ensure cost-efficiency while meeting quality standards. The role also involves documenting and presenting cost analysis reports and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends in materials and manufacturing processes. Qualifications - Proficiency in cost estimation, cost analysis, and budgeting - Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling - Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation - Analytical and problem-solving skills paired with attention to detail - Good communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams - Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines - Proficiency in relevant software tools such as ERP systems, CAD, and costing software - Experience in the foundry or castings industry is an advantage - Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
