ExxonMobil is organizing scheduled in-person interviews at Bengaluru on 15th & 16th Nov 2025 for Design Lead-Plant Modifications role.

What role you will play in our team

This Plant Modification Design Lead will lead Engineering management for various small-scale Brownfield projects for ExxonMobil assets across the globe. Work location is Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

What you will do

The key responsibilities for the Design Lead-Plant Modifications will be:

1. Lead the Designand Engineering developmentfor portfolio of small-scale brownfield projects. Manage and steward Mult-disciplinary engineering design of site led small projects
2. Accountable to deliver engineering packages to site for procurement and construction by working closely with Contractor,Site teamand other engineering disciplines
3. Lead and steward Management of Change including coordinating with other disciplines and operations, conducting risk reviews when appropriate, and updating documentation
4. Participate/lead design reviews, Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, 3D Model Reviews, vendor bid evaluations, and project readiness reviews
5. Work closely with the Engineering contractor in reviewing the proposals, develop the engineering cost and Schedule and submit it to site.
6. Manage, steward & report project engineeringcost and Schedule.
7. Lead/develop design basis and project design scope for detail engineering
8. Act as the Process/Facilities Lead for the process scope of the projects.
9. Develop/update PFD, P&Ids, C&E and Control Narratives for project
10. Provide coaching and mentoring to early career engineers

About You

Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in chemical/petroleum or mechanical engineering from a recognized university
2. Minimum of 5 years of work experience within the oil and gas industry (Upstream, Refining, or Petrochemical) inDesign & Engineering for Projects and/or Technical Services roles
3. Should possess an overview knowledge of other discipline design. Experience of working with other engineering disciplines to progress the project design & engineering
4. Should be able to independently lead multi-disciplinary small-scale projects and influencing Contractor and other discipline teams.
5. Experience and competency in various oil and Gas Industry Process Design and Process Safety standards.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication skills in English
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software program
8. Willing to work in shifts (1.30 PM - 10.30 PM IST) or (9:00 AM -6:00 PM IST)
9. Willing to work full-time from Bengaluru based office location
10. Willing and able to travel nationally and/or internationally as required
11. Tool proficiency : Aspen Hysys/HTRI/DNV PHAST/FLACS/Flarenet/Flaresim/Flarenet/PHA pro/MS Projects
12. Should be legally authorized to work in India.
13. Shouldnot have attended an interview for Ops Tech - Facilities /Process Safety Engineer position in the last 1 year.
