Senior Technical Writer

Overview The Senior Technical Writer works with different teams to create product content and documentation that help both internal teams and end users make the most of our solutions Assists in managing the content throughout its entire lifecycle Duties Responsibilities Support the writing team with technical writing methods tools and techniques Help solve issues in Agile workflows and publishing processes Ensure the writing team has the resources they need manage the daily tasks of the writing team Improve current processes and suggest new methods for better results Lead projects that improve the Technical Writing team s deliverables and processes Create documentation like release notes user and admin guides installation guides quick references knowledge base articles and API documentation Edit and write content following style and editorial standards Work with UX product and engineering teams to design UI content Resolve any documentation issues raised by others identify new documentation needs and opportunities oversee and support all aspects of assigned documentation Help share knowledge across teams and guide others to create accurate content Assist in maintaining guidelines for documentation authors Skills Required Bachelor s degree Experience writing or editing content like UI text support articles or knowledge base articles Familiarity with tools like Azure DevOps Jira or Rally Basic knowledge of source control tools like Git or Azure DevOps Repos Experience using Confluence and SharePoint Knowledge of HTML and CSS Experience with graphic editing tools and screen capture software Experience leading technical writers and helping others succeed Strong interest in helping users get the information they need Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills Experience with writing and editing complex software documentation Strong grammar skills and the ability to create clear simple documentation Great team player who can give and receive constructive feedback Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment Experience working with teams across different time zones Familiarity with MadCap Flare or similar tools Proficient with Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel Desire to stay up to date with new writing and design trends Desired Skills and Qualifications The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position Incumbents will follow any other instructions and perform any other related duties as assigned by their supervisor
