Job Requirements At least 7 years of design experience in Machine Design Special Purpose Machines SPM Organize and mentors design and verification reviews with internal and external teams Apply advanced engineering design principles to each project activity guiding and mentoring the team Proficient in creating complex 3D sheet metal and casting models assemblies and detailed 2D drawings of Special Purpose Machines using SolidWorks Strong understanding of concept design in the special purpose machines domain providing leadership and mentorship in conceptualizing and designing Skilled in conceptualizing and designing special purpose machines based on specific manufacturing requirements mentoring team members in the process Familiar with various manufacturing processes used on the shop floor offering guidance and support Knowledgeable in material properties selection heat treatment and choosing the right engineering materials and functions based on design needs mentoring the team on best practices Applies Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing GD T principles to ensure the accuracy and precision of machine components leading and mentoring the team Experienced in selecting and integrating bought-out components such as motors cylinders and actuators into machine designs providing leadership and support Reports daily to the Team Leader about project progress and potential issues mentoring the team on effective communication Conducts internal quality checks for self and team to ensure defect-free deliverables leading by example Excellent oral and written English communication skills to coordinate with global engineers mentoring the team on effective communication Proficiency in French is an added advantage Leads and mentors a small team of engineers providing guidance and support Manages project timelines and ensures timely delivery of design solutions mentoring the team on project management Collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement leading and mentoring the team Develops and implements best practices in design and manufacturing processes guiding and mentoring the team Executes projects effectively with a small team ensuring high-quality outcomes providing leadership and mentorship Work Experience Proficient in machine design including creating detailed concepts and designs mentoring the team in the process Capable of independently developing detailed concepts providing guidance and support Skilled in performing hand calculations and analyses to justify proposed designs mentoring the team on best practices Experienced in supporting the validation of assemblies and various installations in machine design leading and mentoring the team Able to define components and assemblies of sub-systems according to manufacturing and assembly concepts providing leadership and support Knowledgeable in tolerance stack-up analysis and recommending feasible solutions based on manufacturing capabilities mentoring the team Proficient in analyzing and proposing retrofit solutions for existing design modifications leading and mentoring the team Capable of selecting appropriate fasteners for various assemblies providing guidance and support Strong drawing reading skills and understanding of dimensioning standards mentoring the team Well-versed in Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing GD T leading and mentoring the team Hands-on experience with SolidWorks and PLM platforms for creating 3D models 2D drawings and product structures mentoring the team Knowledgeable in various manufacturing processes providing guidance and support Competent in material properties material selection heat treatment and surface coating mentoring the team Familiar with industry standards for machine design leading and mentoring the team Skilled in machine design including creating complex 3D models assemblies and detailed 2D drawings using SolidWorks mentoring the team Experienced in selecting and integrating components like motors cylinders and actuators into machine designs providing leadership and support Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with global engineers mentoring the team on effective communication Strong leadership and team management skills providing guidance and support Ability to manage project timelines and ensure timely delivery mentoring the team on project management Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement leading and mentoring the team Effective in executing projects with a small team ensuring high-quality outcomes providing leadership and mentorship
