Job Description

Job Title:Senior Frontline Underwriter Residential Mortgage.

Location:India (Work from Office Night Shift aligned with US hours)

Experience:5+ Years

Industry:US Mortgage / Residential Underwriting

Employment Type:Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and verify all loan applications and supporting documents.
- Analyze credit, income, and asset documentation including 1040s, K1s, bank statements, and other financial records.
- Identify risks and inconsistencies within mortgage loan files.
- Perform both AUS (DU, LP) and manual underwriting.
- Run and analyze fraud detection reports (Fraud Guard, Fraud Manager, DRIVE).
- Ensure compliance with agency guidelines (FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, USDA).
- Apply internal credit policies, TRID, and mortgage regulatory standards.
- Accurately document underwriting decisions and communicate conditions or declinations.
- Maintain high-quality output with minimal supervision under strict timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams and respond to client inquiries professionally.
- Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Minimum 5+ yearsof recent US Residential Mortgage underwriting experience.
- Sound knowledge ofFHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, USDAguidelines and Non-QM products.
- Strong experience in compliance, disclosures, closing documentation, or post-close due diligence.
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
- Familiarity withLOS platformssuch as Encompass, BytePro, Calyx, Empower, Lending QB.
- Strong understanding of US mortgage regulatory changes and TRID.
- Ability to work in high-volume environments and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication (verbal & written) and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in underwritingJumbo and Bank Statement programs.
- Exposure to third-party fraud tools likeFraud Guard, Fraud Manager, DRIVE.
- Strong knowledge of US Mortgage processes and investor guidelines
