Company Description IS Global Service Center GSC operating from Chennai India is a part of IS supporting Expeditors IT operations IS GSC started with 6 employees now we are 540 employees today delivering world class Information services globally This Product based Strategic Center s IT transformation has delivered a radical change to Expeditors IT manpower profile and skills over the past few years and will continue to deliver services as we continue to grow responsibly in the coming years Expeditors is a global logistics company headquartered in Seattle Washington As a Fortune 500 company founded in 1979 we have employed over 19 000 trained professionals in a worldwide network of over 350 locations across six continents Expeditors satisfies the increasingly sophisticated needs of international trade through customized solutions and seamless integrated information systems Our Systems Infrastructure team is responsible for the shared technologies our company uses to deliver internal and external systems We are the custodians of centralized development tools such as repositories and registries and we advise development teams on the best ways to exploit build deployment automation You need to be constantly on the lookout for opportunities to improve our Infrastructure in ways that support development team autonomy You take pride in your excellent customer service You work well in a team environment and know how to bring out the best in your colleagues You will contribute by implementing continuous improvements that demonstrate the benefits of DevSecOps practices and technologies on premises and in the cloud Most importantly you are passionate about helping our customers learn to build awesome applications every day KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Consulting to development teams on development process automation Managing and implementing centralized Infrastructure software - Kafka Sonic MQ or Active MQ Delivering exceptional service to help customers build applications Awareness of various messaging technologies frameworks and the ability to apply them to this context Be a collaborative member of a highly motivated and very agile team Qualifications Minimum Qualifications 6 to 12 years in a handling the infrastructure of messaging systems Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Kafka Sonic or Active MQ CI CD and automation management with tools such as Jenkins Kubernetes and Terraform Understanding of design for scalability performance security and reliability Experience assessing organizational security needs and implementing strategies to mitigate them Comfortable and effective at communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders At least four years experience working with on premises and cloud-based implementations At least two years experience using Ansible daily At least three years experience with UNIX Linux scripting At least one years experience utilizing GitLab and GitLab Runners or GitHub actions Proficient with build and deployment tools such as Chef and Jenkins Desired Qualifications Scripting experience Typescript shell Python Experience working within a SAFe Agile development framework Solid Java coding abilities and experience in declarative environment management with Terraform or Bicep Knowledge of Spring Spring Boot and dependency injection Experience in installing and upgrading Java Tomcat Apache Nginx and related technologies Knowledge of the Kafka ecosystem Experience in an Azure environment Experience contributing to the architecture and design architecture design patterns reliability and scaling of new and current systems in a technical lead role Experience with working with cloud native applications container orchestration platforms such as Mirantis Docker Kubernetes Rancher RKE or Anthos Google GKE highly desired Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly Able to formulate and implement a design strategy from a mix of business requirements concept documents and verbal descriptions Proficient working with Virtual Machines on premise and in the cloud Familiar with SAFe methodologies Strong grasp of automation tools REPORTING STRUCTURE Team Manager Core Services Additional Information Expeditors offers excellent benefits Paid Vacation Holiday Health Plan Medical Insurance Employee Stock Purchase Plan Training and Education Programs Unlimited opportunities for career advancement
