Purchasing Manager Job Responsibilities:

- Managing project and engineering items related procurement
- Review requests for proposals (RFxs) and manage procurement cycle in tandem with the technical department
- Review and negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers
- Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on technical and commercial factors.
- Coordination with vendors and expediting items per engineering department’s needs
- Define Procurement strategy
- Developing new suppliers and evaluate existing vendors to meet company goals
- Train new employees and support team members as necessary
- Manage inventory
- Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
- Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers
- Collect and analyze data to ensure the company is making the best decisions
- Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Regular reporting to the project team and Management on procurement timeframes and spends.
- Working to improve inventory and purchasing systems and processes.
- Processing Payments and Invoice.

Purchasing Manager Requirements:

- Minimum BTech in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
- Additional certification/degree related to Purchasing, Material Management or Supply Chain Management desirable.
- Minimum experience of 15 years in Engineering Procurement
- Experience in Chemical Industry desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP-MM module.
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Supervisory and management experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Able to travel to meet with suppliers and work overtime as required
