Job Description Reports to (Job - Role) : Lead Design Engineer Reportee(Job - Role) : - Minimum Qualification : Bachelor of Engineering in (Civil / Structural) Experience : 7 - 10 Years (Experience in Designing & Detailing of Transmission Towers (types) & foundations) Objective: Design Engineer, shall be capable of reviewing & executing Engineering Activities for complete design of Transmission Lines Towers, Civil Foundations & Associated Structures. Design Engineer shall work with a team of Draughts persons, PEMs to carry out activities as per the Engineering Plan aligned with the project and deliver on schedule and budget Key Responsibilities: . Shall be responsible for collecting all inputs to carry out the design activities that are under his area of work. . Must be capable of reading the Technical specification and able to identify the different clauses related to Tower Design and Foundation Design. . Review and ensure optimum design before submission to client. . Ensure quantity control & optimization of civil & structural quantities . Interact with project execution team for resolving the problem. . Witness Tower Testing at Different test Beds . Prepare BOQ and design documents which are required at pre Tender stage. . Post award of Job Submission and get approval for all design related documents from Client. . Maintain all the Engineering Documents as per ISO norms set by the management. Technical Expertise: . Technical Expertise in activities of Route Selection, Profiles, Sag, Tension Charts, design of Transmission Line towers, foundations, gantry structures. Design Engineer shall be able to review, design the detailed drawings for TL towers. Shall be able to design all types of foundations (pad & Chimney/ Isolated Foundation, Combined Foundation, pile foundations etc). Should be aware of design calculations as per codes of domestic & international codes. Should have knowledge on selecting the Test Load cases for Towers. Able to prepare Stringing Chart for site. Conversant with Indian Standards and international standards like BS, UBC, ACI, ASCE related for TL and Foundation design. Operating Network: . Internally : PEMs ,Engineering Heads , Contracts Dept, SCM Dept, Site Engineers ,Cluster Coordinators, Tower Testing Stations ,Factory . Externally : Clients ,Consultants ,Vendors Key Performance Indicators: . On Time Delivery . Optimal Design Engineering / Quantity Savings . Guaranteed weights and volumes as given during estimates . Successful tower testing (checking design capability) . Quality adherence . Innovation Software Skills Required: . Proficiency with structural software like PLSCADD, PLS Tower, STAAD Pro ,PLS Pole, Global Mapper ,TLTSOFT(Internal) . Excellent in MS office and working knowledge of Auto CAD Effective Computer Skills, MS Office, Discipline Specific Software's & Applications. Behavioural Attributes: .
