Key Responsibilities

  • Create Detailed Designs:Develop comprehensive and accurate drawings and 3D models for steel structures, components, and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Ensure Compliance:Verify that designs and details comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with Teams:Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to gather requirements and integrate feedback into the designs.
  • Generate Documentation:Prepare bills of materials, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings for the fabrication and installation processes.
  • Perform Quality Checks:Conduct thorough quality assurance on drawings and models to identify and rectify errors, discrepancies, or conflicts before submission.
  • Resolve Design Issues:Provide support during fabrication and installation by resolving any design issues or queries that arise.
  • Maintain Records:Document and maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project-related documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise:Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or Advance Steel.
  • Construction Knowledge:A strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes and general construction procedures.
  • Attention to Detail:A keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy and precision of the drawings and models.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:The ability to identify and resolve design and technical challenges.
  • Communication:Effective communication skills to collaborate with various team members and stakeholders.
  • Education:An Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Experience:Previous experience in steel detailing or a related field is typically required.
