Job Description

Role Overview:

The Head of Tax is responsible for overseeing the organization's global tax strategy, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations, managing tax risk, optimizing the tax position, and leading a team of tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Strategy & Planning

Own the design, implementation, documentation, assessment and monitoring of entire tax department.

Develop and implement the company's global tax strategy aligned with business objectives.

Identify and evaluate tax planning opportunities to optimize the group's effective tax rate.

Tax Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure full compliance with tax laws both India and International.

Oversee preparation and submission of corporate tax returns, VAT/GST, transfer pricing documentation, and other tax filings.

Coordinate with local finance teams and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.

Identify, assess, and manage tax risks across jurisdictions.

Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place to manage tax risks.

Transfer Pricing

Develop, maintain, and document global transfer pricing policies.

Lead transfer pricing audits and resolve related issues.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead and mentor the tax team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.

Set team objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support career development.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

Provide clear, timely tax reporting and analysis to senior management and board.

Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities.

Skills & Qualification:

Qualification: CA with 12-15 years of experience in Tax (Direct & Indirect Tax).

Domain Experience:

- Hand-on experience in Direct Tax India and International.
- Experience of transfer pricing and in dealing TP assessment.
- Strong knowledge base on GST / International VAT/ GST.

Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing taxation team.

Proactive thinking on Tax impact in line with business and Geo.

Positive outlook to solve past issue and guide management with alternate solution.

Networking: Should have a good network with consultants.

Communication: Excellent communication with good articulation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to assess business opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscapes.

Travel: Willingness to travel as per the requirements.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
