About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Taxation to lead our tax function, ensuring compliance, driving strategy, and managing tax risks across our diverse businesses. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Indirect Taxation (GST), with exposure to Direct Taxation, strong leadership skills, and the maturity to engage with government authorities and cross-functional teams. This role offers the unique opportunity to be part of one of the largest IPOs in Indian history.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Strategy & Advisory

  • Develop and implement tax strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide advisory support on business structuring, M&A, and IPO-related tax matters.
  • Keep abreast of changing tax laws and proactively assess business impact.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with GST, Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, TDS, and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage tax audits, assessments, and litigation at all levels.
  • Establish internal controls to minimize tax risks and optimize tax efficiency.

Representation & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise and represent the company before government authorities, regulators, and tax consultants.
  • Engage with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and external advisors.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, Operations, Business Units) to enable tax-compliant decision-making.

Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and mentor the taxation team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Establish governance frameworks and best practices in taxation.
  • Drive automation and technology adoption for efficiency and accuracy.

What Were Looking For:

  • Mandatory: Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Preferred: Law degree (LL.B.) with specialization in Taxation
  • 8+ years of post-qualification experience with a strong focus on GST and exposure to Direct Taxation.
  • Proven experience in handling tax litigation, audits, and regulatory representation.
  • Prior exposure to working in large corporates, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or diversified conglomerates.
