Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic Retail Head to build and lead Vastramay’s offline retail vertical end-to-end. This is a business ownership role — ideal for someone who has operated their own retail store, managed franchises, or owned full P&L responsibility in a retail environment. Your real-world retail experience matters more than fancy titles. You will work directly with the core leadership team to scale Vastramay’s national retail footprint and build robust retail operations from scratch. Key Responsibilities1. National Store Expansion - Identify and launch new Vastramay stores across India - Manage both mall and high-street formats - Oversee store setup: layouts, interiors, fixtures, branding & VM readiness - Build a scalable, repeatable blueprint to launch 20+ stores nationally 2. Retail Operations Engine - Develop and implement store-level SOPs and operational frameworks - Build audit systems, checklists, reporting formats, and daily monitoring tools - Lead daily sales tracking, forecasting, and performance reviews - Ensure stock accuracy, inventory controls, and shrinkage prevention 3. Team Building & Store Leadership - Hire and manage Store Managers, Stylists, and Sales Associates - Build training programs for styling, product knowledge & customer handling - Drive staff productivity, incentives, discipline, and performance ownership 4. Merchandising, VM & Inventory Flow - Plan region-wise merchandise allocation and depth planning - Define size curves, replenishment logic & demand-based stocking - Lead monthly VM refresh cycles and execution excellence - Implement strategies for slow-moving stock liquidation - Create strong warehouse-to-store inventory discipline 5. Customer Experience & Brand Storytelling - Ensure best-in-class in-store experience consistently across stores - Build customer feedback, escalation, and resolution workflows - Implement CRM, loyalty, and retention systems - Drive brand storytelling in-store to elevate customer engagement 6. P&L Ownership & Financial Management - Full ownership of store profitability and cost controls - Manage manpower budgets, overheads, and operational expenses - Track margins, sell-through, inventory turns & store-level contribution - Participate in monthly P&L presentations and reviews 7. Festive, Wedding & Event Retail Strategy - Lead festive & wedding season planning, stock forecasting & readiness - Develop high-conversion in-store activation and hyperlocal marketing plans - Collaborate with marketing to bring alive festive storytelling in stores Who You Are - You have run your own retail store, boutique, or franchise - OR have managed retail operations with complete P&L ownership - Deep understanding of margins, inventory risk, VM, walk-in conversion & staff performance - Hands-on, street-smart, process-driven, and operationally strong - Thrive in fast-paced, founder-led environments with zero bureaucracy - Experience in ethnicwear, fashion, menswear, womenswear, or kidswear is a strong plus Key Metrics You Will Drive - Store Revenue & Conversion Rate - ATV, ABV & UPT - Store-level EBITDA & Contribution Margin - Stock Turnaround, Replenishment & Shrinkage - Staff Productivity, Training Quality & Retention - VM Execution Quality - Customer NPS & Experience Score - On-time & Successful New Store Launches Role Highlights - Work directly with the leadership team - Opportunity to build the offline retail division from the ground up - High autonomy and decision-making ownership - Rapid growth, steep learning curve, and real business responsibility - Fun, creative, and high-speed execution culture
