Roles and Responsibilities Assist the Medical Director in handling the medical staff in the organization and is responsible for the effective functioning of clinical and ancillary services Works closely with the heads of clinical and ancillary service of clinical services diagnostic and treatment facilities and prepare protocols for efficient patient care Works closely with the nursing service in developing proper procedures for good nursing and supportive care to patients Adopts systems to monitor and improve the quality of care utilization of facilities turnover and performance of staff Develops policies and procedures to safeguard staff and patients against estrogenic injuries and nosocomial infections Participate in the recruitment of doctors and paramedical staff appropriately delegate duties and responsibilities to them and makes them accountable Ensures that medical and paramedical staff function effectively and thereby run the hospital smoothly and efficiently Participate in the activities of the various committees of the hospital Is responsible for effective communication between the hospitals and its employees and thus issues circulars and attends interpersonal and departmental meetings Ensures proper upkeep and confidentiality of medical records and patients documentation Assist Medical Director in the medico legal ethical and research issues concerned with patient care and coordinates with the respective clinical heads in this regards Promotes continuing professional education of medical and paramedical staff Assisting the Medical Director in development of Medical Strategy Service profile and Delivery strategies Assist Medical Director in driving empaneled Consultant Management Ensure proper allocation of paramedical and support staff to all departments in the hospital Recommendation of specified equipment and materials drugs medicines that have been sanctioned and prioritized as per need Work in close collaboration with Consultants Nursing and other Clinical services to ensure delivery of world class Healthcare services Assist Medical Director for ensuring the Statutory and regulatory requirements of the hospital Supervise smooth functioning of hospital services and special clinics and provide assistance in ICUs OPDs OTs as and when required Look after the Attendance of Physicians in coordination with HR department Supervise the hygiene condition and waste disposal of the hospital Act as Custodian for Clinical protocols at unit level and ensure high standards of patient care Manage and ensure coordination within medical and non-medical services to deliver on service quality standards Define and implement Performance Parameters for Doctors Responsible for implementation and adherence to SOPs in all Clinical Specialties conducting regular Medical Audits on an ongoing basis Ensure that proper Standard Operative Procedures are in place for the efficient admission care discharge of patients Set up ensure the regular functioning of the following clinical committees in consultation with the Medical director Hospital Infection Control Committee Academic Council Pharmacy therapeutic Council Quality Management Services Monitor Diagnostic facilities Radiology Pathology and blood bank to ensure service quality levels Ensure proper upkeep confidentiality of medical records patient documentation Develop implement regular Patient Feedback mechanism Monitor Infection Control Department to ensure efficient functioning Monitor and guide functioning of Dietetics department to ensure service quality Work closely with the Nursing Superintendent and take all necessary steps to ensure high standards of patient care Ensure that proper Standard Operative Procedures are in place for the efficient admission care discharge of patients Work closely with the Nursing Superintendent and take all necessary steps to ensure high standards of patient care Ensure that proper Standard Operative Procedures are in place for the efficient admission care discharge of patients Coordinate the entire operations of the CSSD for the smooth functioning of the supplies to fro to various areas of the hospital Ensure waste management is as per statutory norms Coordinate with the Emergency team for all medico-legal cases received at the hospital Plan and control Overall administration budget Compliances Responsible for all medical licenses statutory requirements Responsible for functioning and maintenance of all Medical Equipment s of the hospital including to adhering to SOPs on the uptime of all Medical Equipment Analyze performance of each specialty as per the business plan in conjunction with finance take remedial action To review the hospital operations and respond to changes in customer demand identification of scope for improvement and reporting the same to FD Implementation Any other responsibility assigned by Medical Director and the management
