What the role is all about: - The purpose of the Commercial Data team in Advertising is to develop leading property and market data insights to power Real Commercial products. This squads sits in the Real Commercial tribe, the #1 place for commercial property and data in Australia. - We're seeking an experienced Senior Engineer (3-5 years’ experience) who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys being hands-on tackling technical challenges and leading - teams to deliver innovative solutions. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe, leading the design, development, and optimization of features to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences. - The Senior Engineer role has key strategic importance and visibility within the business. - This is a unique role that will focus on delivering thought leadership in advertising - technologies, designing innovative solutions, and helping teams leverage this to produce world class advertising products. - This is your chance to work on impactful projects that drive customer satisfaction and company growth. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies alongside talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment. While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include: - Own significant parts of technical design and implementation. - Develop and optimize robust data pipelines, models, and services. - Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. - Ensure high-quality code through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices. - Work with product and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions. - Drive improvements in system performance, scalability, and reliability. We are looking for someone with: - Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL / ELT pipelines - Experience with Data modelling - Experience with Data pipelines - Experience with Data consumption - Experience with Data analysis and documentation - Experience with Data warehousing - Advanced skills in designing solutions that scale and perform for millions of users. - Advanced skills in developing long-term system architecture strategies. - Experience with modern software development techniques (e.G. functional programming, microservice architecture, test-driven development and CI/CD) - Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders. - Able to understand business,customer and consumer needs to provide appropriate data solutions. - Someone passionate about data and the latest data technologies. - Good awareness of TDD, CI/CD approaches and tools.
